Located on the northern fringe of the city of Sale, the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex (GRSC) is the premier sporting facility in eastern Victoria.

Owned and operated by Wellington Shire Council, the facility exceeds 15 acres in size and caters for a wide variety of sports and recreational activities.

The main indoor stadium houses 4 multi-purpose basketball courts with full team facilities, a kiosk, conference room and administration office.

Outdoors there are 12 netball courts with seating for up to 100 players and spectators.

There is also a newly constructed full-size synthetic hockey pitch with a pavilion, practice-zone, basketball/training court and playground.

Other GRSC amenities include a 2,500 sqm grass area, 200+ car park, landscaped gardens and walking paths with lighting.

The GRSC is utilised by the Sale Amateur Basketball Association (SABA), Sale Netball Association (SNA) and Wellington Shire hockey clubs, who all facilitate training and competition from the facility. GRSC also host various other social, sporting and recreational activities for the community.

The venue is fully accessible, and all facilities are available for public hire.

indoor courts

The 4 full-size indoor courts are FIBA approved and also meet the dimension specifications of the International Netball Federation. Temporary seating is used to divide the courts, however this can be removed to allow for full use of the space which measures approx. 90m x 40m.

The courts are manufactured from local ash timber which has been treated and sealed using the latest industry wood treatment and application techniques.

The indoor court space is primarily used for basketball and netball, however some courts are configured to suit other sports such as volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, floorball and dodgeball.

outdoor courts

The 12 outdoor netball courts are manufactured with a concrete surface, and positioned in two rows of six.

The area provides an ample amount of open space that can also be used for almost any outdoor activity.

Undercover shelters are positioned at the northern and southern ends of the courts, providing cover for up to 100 players, spectators and officials.

The courts also feature competition standard lighting for night play.

synthetic pitch

The full-size outdoor synthetic pitch is primarily used for hockey and is manufactured to meet current Federation International Hockey (FIH) standards.

The pitch is marked in full field and half field configurations with independent scoreboard operation capability on each end of the field. It has full and half field lighting capabilities of 50% and 100% operation. There is a players dugout with protective glass on the officials area.

A smaller, multi-use synthetic space (22m x 15m) is located beside the main pitch. It is marked with half-court streetball (basketball) court lines, and is interchangeable to be utilised as an additional hockey practice area.

Adjacent to the pitch is a modern pavilion which provides a sheltered vantage point and features inclusive changeroom facilities, kiosk, a fully equipped kitchen and meeting space.

meeting/conference facilities

The GRSC has a conference room that can comfortably fit up to 54 people.

The conference room can be reconfigured into 2 separate meeting rooms, and has a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator.

The room is also equipped with full video projection capability, podium and white board.
