GENERAL INFORMATION

Come & try Footy 7's this summer!

  • Wednesday evenings, 13 & 20 Dec
  • Outdoors at our synthetic pitch
  • Runners, no boots permitted

Juniors

  • Mixed program
  • Ages 8-13
  • Size 2 and 3 footballs
  • 5:00 - 6:00pm
  • Sessions consist of skills and drills followed by matches

Seniors

  • Mixed teams, formed on the night. Friends/complete teams will be kept together where possible
  • Ages 14+
  • Size 4 footballs
  • 6:00 - 7:30pm

REGISTRATIONS

This is a free program and no registration is required.

Simply see one of our staff to check-in when you arrive.

MATCHES/RULES

  • 2 x 15 min halves
  • Mixed competition - any combination of genders permitted
  • Unlimited interchange
  • Footy 7s is divided into 3 x 20m zones – Forward, Midfield & Defence
  • Team composition: 2 x Forwards, 3 x Midfielders (one of who can be nominated as the Scoring Midfielder), 2 x Defenders
  • Forwards and Scoring Midfielder are the only players that can score from inside the forward zone and must wear a coloured sash
  • Players must start in their designated zone after a goal has been scored
  • Ball up in midfield zone to start game & after goals. Player winning possession has 2 seconds to dispose of ball
  • Kick-in after points scored
  • Mark awarded for kicks of 5m or greater. Contact initiated in a marking contest is a free kick
  • If the ball is kicked or handballed over two thirds, a free kick will be awarded to the appropriate team on their defensive third line
  • Turnovers: Ball out of bounds or when the ball touches the ground (may be modified). The nearest oppostition player must take possession and can dispose by hand or foot if the turnover occurred on field or kick only for out-of-bounds
  • Ball can touch the ground from a ball up contest or shot on goal
  • Strictly no contact with the expection of touching the ball carrier. No tackling or bumping permitted
  • Player is caught 'holding the ball' by the 'two handed touch' method.  If a player is deemed to have had prior opportunity to dispose of the ball, this is considered 'holding the ball' and a free kick is awarded. If a player is considered to have had no prior opportunity to dispose of the ball the umpire calls ‘touch’ and the player has 2 seconds to dispose of the ball or a free kick is awarded. A free kick will be awarded against the defensive player if contact is considered excessive
  • A 15m penalty applies for major infractions
